The Science Partnership Office brings you the Aegis Innovation Competition: an exciting scheme where students have the chance to see how scientific research ideas can be commercialised with the opportunity to win up to £5000.
Working over the summer, each team will present their work to the Aegis Professors at a celebration day event in September 2026.
On the 4th March, we will be holding the launch event for AIC 2025. Here, you will be able to learn more about the competition, find out what the challenges are for this year, hear from some of our Aegis Professors and meet with other students thinking of taking part. There will also be free pizza!
Enrolment for the competition will open after this event, and will close on the 30th March. Due to high levels of interest, there will be 250 spaces for the competition this year and we reserve the right to close the enrolment form early if we reach this number. Make sure you register early to avoid disappointment – especially if registering as a team!
Why take part?
The competition will give you the opportunity to:
Interact with our Aegis Professors, industry and academic experts
Experience team working with students from different subjects
Participants build invaluable new skills, make friends, and network with industry professionals.
“I greatly enjoyed taking part in the Celebration Day; it was a lovely culmination of all the work my group had done over the summer. Presenting in front of an audience and the Aegis Professors was a brilliant experience.”

“I feel so privileged to have received the innovation training and would recommend the competition if only for that end.“
